Hello! My name is Abigail Lomas and I am a sophomore early childhood and special education major at Arizona State University! I'm completely filled with wanderlust. I love exploring; I love learning.
Having an immigrant father, I’ve traveled quite a bit in my
20 years on this beautiful planet. But
there is always somewhere new I’d love to explore. Recently, I had the privilege
of traveling to some remarkable places: Paris, France; Barcelona, Spain;
London, England; and Reykjavík, Iceland. When considering which countries to
research, Iceland was the first to pop into my head. Having already visited, I
had a chance to experience just a sliver of the culture first-hand, but I have
a deep hunger to learn more about this beautiful island. I have no cultural
connection with Iceland regarding my heritage, but a deep spiritual connection
was forged the second I stepped out of the Keflavik airport and into the 50° summer
wind and saw the snow-capped mountains in the distance. I want to gain an even
deeper appreciation so that when—not if—I go back, I am able to strengthen and
deepen my connection with the people, lands, and culture of this awe-inspiring
nation.
